The air temperature sensors are a 2-wire negative temperature co-efficient thermistor. The vehicle uses the following air temperature sensors:

* Ambient Air Temperature Sensor

* Inside Air Temperature Sensor Assembly

* Upper Left Air Temperature Sensor

* Upper Right Air Temperature Sensor

* Lower Left Air Temperature Sensor

* Lower Right Air Temperature Sensor

* Upper Auxiliary Air Temperature Sensor

* Lower Auxiliary Air Temperature Sensor

* Auxiliary Inside Air Temperature Sensor

A signal and low reference circuit enables the sensor to operate. As the air temperature surrounding the sensor increases, the sensor resistance

decreases. The sensor signal voltage decreases as the resistance decreases. The sensor operates within a temperature range between -40 to +101锟斤拷C

(-40 to +215锟斤拷F). The sensor signal varies between 0-5 volts. The HVAC control module converts the signal to a range between 0-255 counts. As the

air temperature increases the count value will decrease. If the HVAC control module or auxiliary HVAC control module detects a malfunctioning

sensor, then the control module software will use a defaulted air temperature value. The default value for the ambient and inside air temperature

sensors will be displayed on the scan tool. The default value for the duct air temperature sensors will not be displayed on the scan tool. The scan tool

parameter for the duct air temperature sensors are the actual state of the signal circuit. The default action ensures that the HVAC system can adjust

the inside air temperature near the desired temperature until the condition is corrected.

Diagnostic Aids

Conditions for Running the DTC

Ignition ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The HVAC control module detects the temperature sensor signal circuit is less than -36锟斤拷C (-38锟斤拷F) or greater than 215锟斤拷C (419锟斤拷F) for greater than 15

seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The system operates using a default value.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The DTC will become history if the HVAC control module no longer detects the condition that set the DTC.

* The history DTC will clear after 100 fault-free ignition cycles.

and the sector switch will be active during the power cinch function. Each of the latch switch signal circuits are supplied battery voltage through a

resistor and monitored within the LGM. The latch switches share a common low reference circuit from the LGM and when the switch contacts close

the signal circuit goes low and the LGM determines the switch to be active. The full open switch is a limit switch mounted on the gear motor

assembly alongside the swing arm gear. The full open switch signal circuit is supplied battery voltage through a resistor and monitored within the

LGM. When the liftgate reaches the full open position, the switch signal circuit is closed to the low reference circuit and the signal circuit voltage

goes low.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The system voltage is 9-16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

B153A 00

The LGM detects a fault in any of the following switch signal circuits:

* Ratchet switch

* Pawl switch

* Sector switch

B153A 08

When the LGM detects a loss of B+ voltage, an open/high resistance in the sensor signal circuit, an open/high resistance in the liftgate latch low

reference circuit, or any incorrect combination of signals from the following switch inputs:

* Ratchet switch

* Pawl switch

* Sector switch

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

* Power open will be disabled.

* The latch may be inoperative or not function normally.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.

* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC.

* A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles.

Diagnostic Aids

DTC B153A may be set when the vehicle is driven while the liftgate is open, as when the owner transports a large package in the rear of the vehicle.

The DTC will become history after the liftgate is closed and does not affect normal liftgate operation.

Note: Before testing can be performed the liftgate must be opened. Refer to Opening the Liftgate Without Electrical Power (See: Body and

Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Service and Repair/Procedures) for the appropriate procedure.

Whenever the LGM loses power or is disconnected, the ignition must be cycled OFF then ON in order to reactivate the LGM.

Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

Each of the audio output channel circuits (+) and (-), at the radio and audio amplifier have a DC bias voltage that is one half of the battery voltage.

When using a DMM, each of the audio output channel circuits will measure approximately 6.5V DC. The audio being played on the system is

produced by a varying AC voltage that is centered around the DC bias voltage on the same circuit. The AC voltage is what causes the speaker cone

to move and produce sound. This voltage will vary depending on what type of audio is being listened to, talk or music, and type of music, as well as

the volume setting of the system. Low volume and talk settings will measure around 1V AC and less, where constant music may measure 3V AC and

Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

Modules connected to the high and low speed GMLAN serial data circuits monitor for serial data communications during normal vehicle operation.

Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. The modules have prerecorded information about what messages are

needed to be exchanged on the serial data circuits, for each virtual network. The messages are supervised and also, some periodic messages are used

by the receiver module as an availability indication of the transmitter module. Each message contains the identification number of the transmitter

module.

The wake up signal circuit is energized by the serial data gateway (SDG) module to activate the drive motor generator power inverter module (PIM)

and the drive motor generator battery control module. If the wake up signal is not responded to by all three modules, this DTC sets in the SDG

module.

Conditions for Running the DTC

* The system voltage is between 9-16 volts.

* The vehicle power mode master requires serial data communication to occur.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

A short circuit exists on the wake up signal circuit of the SDG module.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminates and the driver information center (DIC) displays the message Service Hybrid System.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* A current DTC clears when the malfunction is no longer present.

* A history DTC clears when the module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold of 50, without a repeat of the malfunction.

Circuit/System Description

The memory seat module (MSM) monitors the current supplied to the seat adjuster motors. The MSM can detect both absolute and differential

current levels from the motors. Absolute current is the maximum allowable current the module will supply to the motors. A differential current

mismatch occurs when the current supplied to the seat, lumbar and adjustable pedal motors do not match the current returning from the motors.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The MSM establishes that it is not closing to a shorted motor control circuit before the motors are active.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

B1335 00

Current out of the module does not match the current returning to the module within 5 amps.

B1335 0B

The absolute current or an over-current has exceeded the maximum value allowed.

B1335 42

This DTC will set if the module calibration is not programmed.

B1335 4B

This DTC will set if the module calibration is out of range.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The adjustable pedal motor and all driver seat adjuster motors are disabled.
