P0700, P2227, P2228, or P2229 is not set.



* The engine is operating.



* The BARO is greater than 68 kPa.



* The fuel level is between 11-88 percent.



* The ECM has commanded the EVAP canister purge solenoid OFF.



* The ECM has commanded the EVAP canister vent valve open.



OR



* The fuel level is less than 60 percent, 73 percent for LLT.



* The vehicle speed is between 10-76 km/h (6-47 mph) for greater than 30 seconds.



* The ECM has commanded the EVAP canister purge solenoid ON.



OR



* The calculated ambient air temperature is between 4-35掳C (39-95掳F) for greater than 3 seconds.



* DTC P0451 runs continuously when the above conditions are met for approximately 7 seconds.



Conditions for Setting the DTC



P0450



The ECM detects that the FTP sensor signal oscillates greater than 6.09 mm/Hg (3.26 in. H2O) for 4 seconds, or for a cumulative of 30 seconds.



P0451



* The ECM detects that the FTP is less than -26.2 mm/Hg (-14.1 in. H2O) or greater than 11.0 mm/Hg (5.9 in. H2O) for 4 seconds or for a



cumulative of 30 seconds.



OR



* The ECM detects a change in the zero point of FTP sensor signal greater than +/-5.16 mm/Hg (2.76 in. H2O) from the zero point at start up



for 4 seconds, or a cumulative of 30 seconds.



Action Taken When the DTC Sets



DTCs P0450 and P0451 are Type B DTCs.



Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC



DTCs P0450 and P0451 are Type B DTCs.



Diagnostic Aids



A blocked or clogged EVAP canister vent may set these DTCs.

* DTC P0100, P0101, P0102, P0103, P0111, P0112, P0113, P0114, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0418, P050C, P2227, P2228, P2229,



P2257, or P2258 is not set.



* Greater than 60 min has elapsed since the last cold start.



* The secondary air injection system has been commanded ON and OFF during the ignition cycle.



* The battery voltage is between 10-18 V.



* The engine speed is between 680-3,500 RPM.



* The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) is between -12 to +80掳C (10.4-176掳F).



* The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) is between -10.5 to +69.8掳C (13-158掳F).



* The Mass Air Flow (MAF) is less than 100 g/s.



* Catalyst heating is active.



* The Barometric Pressure (BARO) is less than 68 kPa (9.9 psi).



* The difference between intake air temp and engine coolant start temp is less than 15掳C (27掳F).



* DTC P0411 runs once per ignition cycle when the above conditions are met.



Conditions for Setting the DTC



* The ratio of the calculated secondary air mass flow to the modeled secondary air mass flow is less than 0.75 or greater than 1.2.



* DTC P0411 sets within 60 s when the above condition is met.



Action Taken When the DTC Sets



DTC P0411 is a Type B DTC.



Conditions for Clearing the DTC



DTC P0411 is a Type B DTC.

Circuit/System Verification



Note: Do not run secondary air injection pump for more than 1-2 minutes at a time. Running for an extended period of time without allowing



pump to cool may cause damage to the pump.



1. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Verify that DTC P2431, P2432, or P2433 is not set.

Code (DTC) List - Vehicle) for further diagnosis.



2. Observe the scan tool Secondary Air Injection Pressure Sensor voltage parameter. The reading should be between 1.0-4.0 V.



3. Compare the scan tool BARO pressure parameter to the Altitude Versus Barometric Pressure (See: Powertrain Management/Computers and

P2227



* Before the ECM can report DTC P2227 failed, DTCs P0100, P0101, P0102, P0103, P0121, P0122, P0123, P0221, P0222, P0223, P2228,



and P2229 must run and pass.



* The engine is operating for greater than 1 s.



* The mass air flow sensor signal is valid.



* The evaporative emission (EVAP) leak test is not enabled.



* DTC P2227 runs continuously once the above conditions are met for 2 s.



P2228 or P2229



* The engine is operating.



* The DTCs run continuously once the above conditions are met for 2 s.



Conditions for Setting the DTC



P2227



* The ECM detects that the BARO pressure is less than 50 kPa or greater than 115 kPa and DTC P2228 or P2229 is not set.



* The ECM detects that the BARO pressure changed greater than 10 kPa within 20 s.



* The ECM detects that the BARO pressure changed greater than 30 kPa since the last ignition cycle, and the difference between the BARO



signal and the calculated BARO is greater than 2 kPa. The condition exists within 1 s of engine start up.



* DTC P2227 sets if any of the conditions above exist for greater than 1 s.



P2228



The ECM detects that the BARO sensor voltage is less than 0.20 V for 1 s.



P2229



The ECM detects that the BARO sensor voltage is greater than 4.87 V for 1 s.



Action Taken When the DTC Sets



DTCs P2227, P2228, and P2229 are Type B DTCs.



Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC



DTCs P2227, P2228, and P2229 are Type B DTCs.

Circuit/System Verification



1. Start the engine. Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTCs P2227, P2228, or P2229 should not set.



2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the



conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.



Circuit/System Testing



1. Inspect the atmospheric vent on the K20 ECM case for one of the following conditions:



* Moisture in the vent inlet



* Debris in the vent inlet



瀚慖f a condition exists, attempt to clean or dry the atmospheric inlet.



2. Start the engine. Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTCs P2227, P2228, or P2229 should not set.
