瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the low control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.



3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between ground and the high control circuit terminal 2.



瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the high control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.



4. Ignition ON, command the Fuel Pressure Regulator ON with a scan tool. Verify that the test lamp illuminates.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the high control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,



replace the K20 ECM.



5. Ignition OFF, connect a test lamp between the low control circuit terminal 1 and B+.



6. Ignition ON, command the Fuel Pressure Regulator ON with a scan tool. Verify that the test lamp illuminates.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the low control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,



replace the K20 ECM.



7. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the G18 high pressure fuel pump.



Component Testing



Static Test



1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the G18 high pressure fuel pump.



Note: The DMM and test leads must be calibrated to 0 ohm in order to prevent misdiagnosis.



2. Test for 9-11 ohm at 25掳C (77掳F) between the low control circuit terminal 1 and the high control circuit terminal 2.



瀚慖f not within the specified range, replace the G18 high pressure fuel pump.



3. Measure the resistance between each terminal and the high pressure fuel pump housing. The DMM should display OL.



瀚慖f less than the specified value, replace the G18 high pressure fuel pump.

瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to voltage.



6. Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following circuits and ground:



* Signal circuit terminal B



* Signal circuit terminal C



瀚慖f less than the specified value, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground.



7. Test for less than 2 ohms between the following signal circuits:



* Terminal B at the RCDLR and terminal 3 at the console active antenna



* Terminal C at the RCDLR and terminal 4 at the console active antenna



瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for an open/high resistance.



8. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the console active antenna.

瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the low control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.



3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between ground and the high control circuit terminal 2.



瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the high control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.



4. Ignition ON, command the Fuel Pressure Regulator ON with a scan tool. Verify that the test lamp illuminates.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the high control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,



replace the K20 ECM.



5. Ignition OFF, connect a test lamp between the low control circuit terminal 1 and B+.



6. Ignition ON, command the Fuel Pressure Regulator ON with a scan tool. Verify that the test lamp illuminates.



瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the low control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,



replace the K20 ECM.



7. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the G18 high pressure fuel pump.



Component Testing



Static Test



1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the G18 high pressure fuel pump.



Note: The DMM and test leads must be calibrated to 0 ohm in order to prevent misdiagnosis.

7. Connect a DMM set to the diode setting between the control circuit terminal 86 and ground.



8. Ignition ON, verify the DMM does not display OL.



瀚慖f the DMM displays OL, test the control circuit for a short to voltage, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the



K20 ECM.



9. If all circuits test normal, replace the KR75 powertrain relay.



Component Testing



Note: Depending on the application, the relay coil resistance will be within one of the following ranges.



1. Test for one of the following resistance specifications between terminals 85 and 86 of the KR75 powertrain relay:



* 70-110 ohm



* 200-250 ohm



瀚慖f not within the specified range, replace the KR75 powertrain relay.



2. Measure for infinite resistance between the following terminals of the KR75 powertrain relay:



* 30 and 86



* 30 and 87



* 30 and 85



* 85 and 87



瀚慖f continuity is detected, replace the KR75 powertrain relay.



3. Connect a 20 A fused jumper wire from the positive terminal of the battery to relay terminal 85. Connect a jumper wire from the negative



terminal of the battery to relay terminal 86. Measure for less than 2 Ohms between terminals 30 and 87 of the relay.



瀚慖f greater than the specified value, replace the KR75 powertrain relay.

5. Remove the test lamp.

6. Command the appropriate cylinder deactivation solenoid ON with a scan tool. Verify the scan tool Cylinder Deactivation Solenoid Valve

Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status parameter displays OK.

瀚慖f not the specified value, test the appropriate control circuit listed below for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the

ECM.

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 1 terminal C

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 2 terminal A

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 3 terminal B

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 4 terminal D

7. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the appropriate control circuit terminal listed below and the ignition circuit terminal E. Command the

appropriate cylinder deactivation solenoid ON with a scan tool. Verify the scan tool Cylinder Deactivation Solenoid Valve Control Circuit

High Voltage Test Status parameter displays Malfunction.

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 1 terminal C

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 2 terminal A

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 3 terminal B

* Cylinder deactivation solenoid valve 4 terminal D

瀚慖f not the specified value, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.

8. If all the circuits test normal, test or replace the valve lifter oil manifold assembly.

Component Testing

Static Test

1. Ignition OFF, open the hood to disable the Auto-Stop function. Refer to Hybrid Modes of Operation Description ( See: Hybrid Drive

Systems/Description and Operation/Hybrid Modes of Operation).

2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Hood Position parameter displays Open.

瀚慖f not the specified value, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (See: Diagnostic Trouble Code

Descriptions/Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle) for DTC P254F.

3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the valve lifter oil manifold assembly.

4. Connect the harness that is labeled resistance from the displacement on demand (DOD) tester to the valve lifter oil manifold connector.

5. Connect the power leads from the DOD tester to B+ and ground. Test for 11-18 ohm on each valve lifter oil manifold solenoid.

瀚慖f not within the specified range for each solenoid, replace the valve lifter oil manifold assembly.

6. Test for infinite resistance between each valve lifter oil manifold circuit terminal and the valve lifter oil manifold housing.

瀚慖f not the specified value, replace the valve lifter oil manifold assembly.

Dynamic Test

1. Ignition OFF, open the hood to disable the Auto-Stop function. Refer to Hybrid Modes of Operation Description ( See: Hybrid Drive

Systems/Description and Operation/Hybrid Modes of Operation).

2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Hood Position parameter displays Open.

瀚慖f not the specified value, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (See: Diagnostic Trouble Code

Descriptions/Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle) for DTC P254F.

3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the valve lifter oil manifold assembly.

4. Connect the cable that is labeled power from the displacement on demand DOD tester to the connector.

5. Connect the power leads from the DOD tester to B+ and ground.

6. Command each valve lifter oil manifold solenoid ON and OFF using the DOD tester. You should be able to hear each solenoid turn ON and

OFF.

瀚慖f the function does not perform as specified, replace the valve lifter oil manifold assembly.

瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to voltage.

3. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 85 and ground.

瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or a open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and

ignition circuit fuse is open, test all components connected to the ignition circuit and replace as necessary.

4. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the relay B+ circuit terminal 30 and ground.

瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or a open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and B+

circuit fuse is open, replace the A/C clutch relay.

5. Disconnect the harness connector at the A/C clutch coil.

6. Test for less than 1 ohm between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

7. Connect the harness connector at the A/C clutch coil.

8. Connect a 10-amp fused jumper wire between the B+ circuit terminal 30 and control circuit terminal 87. Verify the A/C clutch is activated.

瀚慖f the A/C clutch does not activate, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the A/C

clutch.

9. Connect a test lamp between the ignition circuit terminal 85 and the control circuit terminal 86.

10. Command the A/C relay output function ON and OFF with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the

commanded states.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace

the ECM.

11. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the A/C clutch relay.

Component Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the A/C COMP relay.

2. Test for 60-180 ohms between terminals 85 and 86.

瀚慖f the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the relay.

3. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals:

* 30 and 86

* 30 and 87

* 30 and 85

* 85 and 87

瀚慖f not the specified value, replace the relay.

4. Install a 30-amp fused jumper wire between relay terminal 85 and 12 volts. Install a jumper wire between relay terminal 86 and ground. Test

for less than 2 ohms between terminals 30 and 87.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, replace the relay.

瀚慖f the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuits listed below for a short to voltage:

* Passenger seat cushion and seat back terminal 3

* Passenger seat cushion element terminal 2

* Passenger seat back element terminal 4

6. If all circuits test normal, replace the HSM.

B2345 13

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2, X4 harness connectors at the HSM.

2. Test for greater than 850 ohms between the signal and the low reference circuits listed below:

* Driver seat cushion terminal 9 X4 and terminal 6 X2

* Passenger seat cushion terminal 20 X4 and terminal 8 X2

瀚慖f less than the specified value, test for a short between the signal and low reference circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the

appropriate seat cushion heater element/temperature sensor.

3. Test for greater than 850 ohms between the signal and the low reference circuits listed below:

* Driver seat back terminal 19 X4 and terminal 5 X2

* Passenger seat back terminal 10 X4 and terminal 7 X2

瀚慖f less than the specified value, test for a short between the signal and low reference circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the

appropriate seat back heater element/temperature sensor.

4. If all circuits test normal, replace the HSM.

B2345 42 or B2345 4B

If either DTC is set, replace the HSM.

5. Verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the supply voltage circuit terminal 6 X1 and ground.

* Passenger seat back element terminal 4 X1

6. If all circuits test normal, replace the MSM.
