Circuit/System Verification

1. Engine running measure and record the voltage at the battery terminals. Verify that the battery voltage is 12.6-15.5 V

瀚慖f not within the specified range, refer to Charging System Test (See: Starting and Charging/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests

and General Diagnostics/Charging System Test)

2. Engine running, observe the scan tool EBCM Battery Voltage Signal parameter. The reading should be between 12.6 and 15.5 V

瀚慖f not within the specified range, replace the EBCM.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.

Control Module References (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning) for EBCM replacement, setup and programming.

Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

The brake booster vacuum sensor measures the vacuum in the brake booster assembly. The electronic brake control module (EBCM) supplies a 5 V

reference and a low reference circuit to the brake booster vacuum sensor. The vacuum sensor supplies a voltage signal in relation to the pressure in

the brake booster to the EBCM.
