Control Module References (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning) for scan tool information
Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Right Rear Door Ajar Sw. and Left Rear Door Ajar Sw, parameters while opening and closing each rear door.
The parameters should change between Door Closed and Door Ajar.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate rear door ajar switch.
2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Right Rear Door Ajar Sw. or Left Rear Door Ajar Sw. parameter is Door Closed.
瀚慖f not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground:
* LR door latch switch terminal 4
* RR door latch switch terminal 1
瀚慖f the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
3. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the door ajar switch.
Component Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate door ajar switch.
2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal terminal and the ground terminal with the door ajar switch in the open position listed below:
* LR door latch switch terminal 4 and 6
* RR door latch switch terminal 1 and 3
瀚慖f not the specified value, replace the door ajar switch.
3. Test for less than 2 ohms between the signal terminal and the ground terminal with the door ajar switch in the closed position listed below:
* LR door latch switch terminal 4 and 6
* RR door latch switch terminal 1 and 3
瀚慖f greater than the specified range, replace the door ajar switch.
