瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance

3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal A and ground

4. Ignition ON, command the Brake Lamp ON and OFF with a scan tool, the test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the

commanded states.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.

瀚慖f the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace

the K9 BCM.

5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the E5 tail lamp.

DTC Descriptors

DTC B3883 02

- License Plate Lamp Circuit Short to Ground

DTC B3883 04

- License Plate Lamp Circuit Open

Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

The headlamp switch is supplied with ground at all times. When the headlamp switch is placed in either the park or low beam position, the BCM

responds by applying battery voltage to the license plate lamp control circuit. This energizes the left and right license lamp.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Headlamp switch in park or low beam position.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

B3883 02

The BCM detects a short to ground on the license plate lamp control circuit.

B3883 04

The BCM detects an open /high resistance on the license plate lamp control circuit.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
