Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool RCDLR Authentication Switch parameter. The parameter should be Active only when the ignition switch knob

is pressed.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ignition switch.

2. Verify the scan tool Authentication Switch parameter is Inactive.

瀚慖f not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 5 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RCDLR.

3. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 5 and B+. Verify the scan tool Authentication Switch parameter is Active.

瀚慖f not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the

RCDLR.

4. If all circuits tests normal, test or replace the ignition switch.
