Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The left and right rear door handle switch signal circuit provides inputs to the keyless entry control module when the appropriate rear exterior door
handle switch is activated. This input allows the keyless entry control module to detect a door open request. When the left or right rear door handle
is activated, the switch closes and the voltage signal from the keyless entry control module is pulled to ground, the keyless entry control module
will then send a command to the appropriate door module to unlock and unlatch the door.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The system voltage is 9-16 V.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The keyless entry control module detects a short to ground in the left rear or right rear door handle signal circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The affected door will not unlock when using the exterior rear door handle.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.
* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC.
* A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles.
