Circuit/System Description

The exterior door handle switch signal circuit provides inputs to their respective door lock/window switch and to the keyless entry control module

when the exterior door handle switch is activated. This input allows the door lock/window switch and the keyless entry control module to detect a

door open request. The door lock/window switch and the keyless entry control module provides voltage to the exterior door handle switch via the

front door handle switch signal circuit. When the front door handle is activated, the switch closes and the voltage signals from the door

lock/window switch and the keyless entry control module are pulled to ground.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Battery voltage is between 9-16 V.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The keyless entry control module detects the driver exterior door handle switch signal circuit is shorted to ground or closed for greater than 180

seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The keyless entry control module ignores inputs from the driver exterior door handle switch.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.

* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC.

* A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

With the doors closed and locked, approach the vehicle with the keyless entry transmitter and pull the exterior left front door handle. The driver

door should unlock and unlatch allowing the door to be pulled open.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B27D door handle switch-driver.

2. Test for less than 30ohm between the ground circuit terminal listed below and ground.
