Circuit/System Verification

1. Engine ON, accessories OFF, measure and record the battery voltage with a DMM. The battery voltage should be between 12.5-14.5 volts.

瀚慖f the voltage is not within the specified value, or the charge indicator light is ON, refer to Symptoms - Engine Electrical (See: Starting

and Charging/Testing and Inspection/Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures/Symptoms - Engine Electrical).

2. Observe the scan tool TCM Ignition Voltage parameter. The reading should be between 12.5-14.5 volts.

3. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the

conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 16-way harness connector at the T12 automatic transmission assembly.

2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 ohms on the vehicle harness connector X1 terminal 5 and ground at the transmission case.

瀚慖f greater than then specified valve, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates at connector X1 vehicle harness side and the following terminals:

* Terminal 4 and ground at the transmission case

* Terminal 12 and ground at the transmission case

瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate on any circuit, test the ignition or B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

4. If all circuits test normal, replace the Q8 control solenoid valve assembly.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.

Perform the Service Fast Learn Adapts (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Testing and

Inspection/Programming and Relearning) following all transmission related repairs.
